Our company specializes in electric vehicle charging solutions, product innovation, and customer support. We tailor our services to fit the unique needs of EV owners and businesses, helping them transition to sustainable energy and making it as easy as possible.
Our focus is on Level 2 EV charger installations, for work and at home. We can install almost any available brand.
Formally known as an Electric Vehicle Energy Management System (EVEMS), it is an add-on system that is installed between the electrical panel and the EV charger (source/destination). The EVEMS allows for connecting, disconnecting, increasing, or reducing electric power the the EV charger.
The system works by monitoring the overall power consumption at the electrical panel using sensors that are connected to the incoming power wires. The information is then sent via wired or wireless connection to the EV charger, which will automatically adjust its output power to avoid overloading the electrical panel.
There are specific provisions made in the Canadian Electrical Code to facilitate the installation of a dedicated EV Charger circuit when an EVEMS is used.
In addition, BC Hydro currently has rebates available EV Power Management devices (see here).
There are a lot of variables to consider when determining an installation cost. An assessment must be conducted at the install site to evaluate the existing electrical infrastructure. Some research would suggest that the average installation cost (all in) is about $2250.
In most cases an expensive panel upgrade can be avoided. The best solution is to implement a power management system, which evaluates the site power usage in real-time and automatically diverts any available power to your EV charger. This is also the ideal solution for sites with multiple EV chargers.
We offer a 1-year warranty on the installation of an EV charger. Most of the chargers on the market will carry a manufacturers warranty for the charger itself.
The first step of the process is to do a site analysis. We need to assess the existing power service, determine your actual power usage, measure wire lengths and confirm an installation location.
Following the assessment we can develop a proper estimate for the EV charger installation, apply for the required permits, and schedule an install date. We will also arrange for any site inspections if required.
